The 2010 course may change. Keep posted.
The course has changed slightly. The map link bellow is the new course. The course still consists of two 13 mile loops on small Forest Service Roads each beginning and ending in Dog Valley. If your paws are too tired at the end of the first loop you can call it a day and roll over for a good belly rub. But if your tail is still wagging, you can set off on the other 13 mile loop to complete the full Dog Valley Dog Marathon.
Loop 1 passes Aid Station One and Two. Loop Two passes Aid Station Two. There are also Watering Bowls so water is available every 3-4 miles. The valley is at about 5700 feet with each loop rising to about 7200 around the half way point, then descending back into the valley.
The average daily high temperature for the area is in the mid 60s. Not too hot for hounds and people.
Check out the new map of the course.
